Before Commencement and the departure of many of us from campus, the College President Search Committee would like to provide our final update on this semester-long search process.
As previously announced, more than 60 candidates were nominated or self-nominated for the position, and approximately 20 candidates submitted applications. The search committee conducted an initial round of interviews before inviting each of the three finalists to campus for two days of interviews with stakeholders in April and early May.
During their campus visits, each finalist met with faculty, staff, administrators, and students in both one-on-one and small-group settings. They also participated in community forums answering questions and discussing a wide variety of issues.
Thank you to all who participated in the community forums with the finalists. Your insightful and candid responses to the surveys following each of these campus visits are a key component of the final decision making process. We are grateful for the time you invested in attending the community forums and small-group meetings and in providing feedback on the surveys.
The Chief Executive is now considering search committee and community feedback and conducting further due diligence. Once the Chief Executive has made an appointment, it will need to be ratified by Principia’s Board of Trustees. We anticipate an announcement of the new hire by early to mid-June.
